The MAX15027-MAX15030 are low-dropout (LDO) linear regulators capable of delivering up to 1A (MAX15027/MAX15028) or 500mA (MAX15029/MAX15030) while operating from a voltage as low as 1.425V. In a 3mm x 3 mm package, the LDOs can dissipate up to 1.9W at +70C. Maxim designed them for applications in automotive, networking, storage, server, and telecom equipment.

The devices feature a bias input that allows you to power them from an independent supply, making them suitable for always-on power supplies in automotive applications. The bias input allows the regulator's input to reduce current to 2 μA during shutdown. They have ±2% accuracy over line, load, and temperature, as well as a dropout voltage as low as 75mV (MAX15027/MAX15028) or 40mV (MAX15029/MAX15030) under a full load. Other features include a capacitor-adjustable soft-start input, an enable input, and an adjustable feedback input to set the output voltage from 0.5V to 3.3V. The package is a 3mm x 3mm, thermally enhanced, 10-pin TDFN outline, fully specified over the -40 to +125C range, and the devices cost $0.90 (1000).
