600W rugged chassis mount DC/DC converter with integrated heat sink for improved thermal performance

CUI has announced the VFK600, a 600W addition to its rugged chassis mount DC/DC converters family for industrial, communications, and transportation applications. The isolated converters measure 7.8x5.0x1.5in and include an integrated aluminum heat sink for good thermal performance. The heat sink allows the unit to operate at high temperatures with a minimal amount of air flow, says the company. The converters accept a 2:1 input voltage range, supporting either 18 to 36V DC or 36 to 75V DC. For high power requirements, the converters feature active current sharing up to 1200W and support N+1 redundancy operation. The DC/DC converters are offered in five different regulated output voltage versions such as 12, 24, 28, 32 and 48V DC. The company claims that the converters feature efficiency up to 92%, fast response, tight regulation, remote sense, remote on and off control, under-voltage, over-temperature, over-current, over-voltage, and input transient voltage protection.
