About EDN Europe
EDN Europe: a focused product specific to, and unique in, its own region, that draws on a unique international network of editorial expertise.

Across the world, EDN serves design engineers, providing exactly the information they need to conceive and create tomorrow’s electronic products. EDN is Energy for the Design Mind. The electronics industry is global but has distinct regional specialities. EDN reflects that structure with its regional editions. In Europe, EDN has for many years provided an authoritative source of data on new and emerging technologies, design techniques, and innovative products.

EDN Europe gives its readers that key blend of regional and global coverage, with every edition containing editorial researched and written here in Europe, blended with articles drawn from the output of EDN’s team of specialist editors in the United States and across the world. With EDN’s requirement that all of its editors have engineering qualifications and experience, this adds up to a depth of editorial resources that is simply unmatched in the European market.

At the heart of every edition of EDN Europe is a series of in-depth technical articles. Having chosen a topic, EDN’s editors are given the space to investigate it thoroughly. Thus, technical articles typically run over four to six, or even more, pages of the magazine, as the subject demands. Every issue addresses a variety of topics from across the industry and includes comprehensive coverage of those subjects that lie at the core of the industry in Europe, such as the automotive, communications, and industrial sectors.

Included in these articles are favourites with EDN readers, such as the unique 'Hands-On' series, in which EDN’s editors use their engineering expertise to evaluate a specific topic 'on the bench.' In the regular Design Features, editors consult with expert opinions from both the vendor and designer communities and report on key technology trends. Building on this core of staff-written articles, EDN Europe also features articles contributed from industry sources, selected and edited to the same demanding standards that EDN imposes on itself.

In addition, readers can look for, and find, the regular sections of the magazine. The Leading Edge section reports each month on significant technology and product introductions, once again blending local, European-sourced articles with an insight into the US, Japan, and Asian markets. And, of course, Leading Edge features Dilbert, whose appeal is independent of the territory in which he is read!

The Design Ideas section is a peer-to-peer medium in which short circuit and software ideas are exchanged and is an enduringly popular section of the magazine. Ingenuity knows no borders, and EDN Europe’s readers are particularly strong contributors to Design Ideas, which are sourced worldwide and published across all of EDN’s editions.

EDN Europe’s product pages dip into the many hundreds of new products launched in the industry each month, again concentrating on products introduced to the European market. And every edition of EDN Europe has an editorial-comment column, in which an editor reflects on a topic of the moment that has come to prominence that month. These editorials draw on many years’ observation of the industry and aim to highlight the issues—and some of the contradictions—surrounding matters of direct concern to the design community.
