Toshiba has expanded its range of 32bit ARM9 microcontrollers that combines integrated graphics capabilities with a comprehensive set of onboard peripherals and interfaces. The TMPA900CMXBG low-power device adds USB host functionality, USB device support and features that simplify compliance with the IEC60730 Class B home appliance safety standards. Based on the low-power 32bit ARM926EJ-S core operating at up to 200MHz, the device simplifies the design and reduces the component count of embedded systems that need to combine HMI (human machine interface) support with multiple connectivity options. An integrated OFD (oscillation frequency detector) facilitates hardware monitoring of the CPU clock to enable compliance with the requirements of safety standard IEC60730 (Class B). The device features an LCD controller for STN/TFT colour displays up to a maximum of 1024x768pixels, a touch screen interface and an image process accelerator that provides on-chip scaling, filtering and image blending at resolutions up to 800x480pixels. The device is supplied in a 289pin BGA package and offers 91 general purpose I/O pins.
