Visionary article previewed geostationary satellite systems

Sir Arthur C Clarke, engineer, futurologist and writer of science fiction and fact, died this week (blog commentary). He was noted for a groundbreaking proposal, in a 1945 edition of "Wireless World" for the use of geostationary satellites for broadcast and communications.
