Toshiba Electronics Europe has introduced a series of CMOS bus switches that are suitable for bi-directional voltage translation and efficient isolation between host and peripheral ICs. The TC7SPB9306/07TU 1bit bus switches can be connected to two independent power supplies, with the A-side supporting voltages from VCCA = 1.65V to 5.0V and the B-side supporting voltages from VCCB = 2.3V to 5.5V. Designers can implement bi-directional interfacing between low voltage systems of 1.8V and high voltage systems up to 5.0V by combining the bus switch with external pull-up resistors. A choice of active high OE (output enable) and active low OE is available with the TC7SBP9306TU and TC7SBP9307TU, respectively. The new switches operate with a low ON resistance of 5.0Ω and quiescent current of 1µA. Every pin in the device is equipped with ESD protection according to machine model and human body model of at least 200V and 2000V respectively. Additionally, OE and I/O pins are equipped with power down protection. Supplied in a miniature UF6 surface mount packaging, the 1bit dual supply bus switch has dimensions of 2.0x1.7x0.7mm.
