Emulator supports serial wire viewer real-time tracing

Atollic has launched an embedded development package comprising its TrueSTUDIO C/C++ development tool, and the J-Link JTAG (joint test action group) debug probe from SEGGER Microcontroller. The J-Link debug probe integrates seamlessly into the company’s TrueSTUDIO development environment, and provides a true one-click debug solution, claims the company. The TrueSTUDIO project wizard auto-generates suitable debug configurations for J-Link and all supported evaluation boards. The J-Link is a USB-powered JTAG emulator for ARM devices, supporting the serial wire debug interface and serial wire viewer real-time tracing. J-Link is plug-and-play compatible, using a high-speed USB 2.0 interface. No extra power supply is required, as the debug probe is powered through the USB cable, according to the company. The TrueSTUDIO extracts tracing information from ARM Cortex processors using the J-Link debug probe and presents it in real-time trace logs and graphical charts.
