Free ARM development

EDN Europe, 01 Jan 2008

Hitex Development Tools has released a new version of its free HDS (Hitex Developer Suite) for ARM software package, which includes an unlimited version of the HiSIM instruction set simulator, a HiTOP IDE/debugger, a GNU C-compiler, an evaluation version of the TASKING VX C-compiler for ARM, and application notes for compiler benchmarking. The kit allows you, Hitex says, to quickly familiarise yourself with ARM-specific programming features and with the universal HiTOP debug software without any investment (other than your time!). The latest HiTOP version includes the facility to fully integrate compilers such as the TASKING VX C-compiler. In addition, it now provides template files for all common ARM derivatives; these files enhance the basic application settings. To define customised windows, HiTOP now has a graphical SFR (special-function-register) editor. You can download HDS for ARM at www.hitex.com/download.html.
