dSpace has announced that MISRA, the Motor Industry Software Reliability Association, has published official modeling guidelines for dSpace’s TargetLink – the company says that TargetLink is the first production code generator for which such guide-lines have been issued. Officially called “MISRA ACG-TL: Guidelines for the application of TargetLink in the context of automatic code generation”, the guidelines address aspects of functional safety. The modelling guidelines operate alongside those for C-code – the MISRA-C guide-lines. dSpace asserts that the combination function and production code developers to work to an official standard that will give them definitive support for the design and implementation of vehicle functions. The guidelines formulate requirements for modeling in TargetLink with regard to functional safety and are particularly relevant to safety-critical projects.
