10 W amplifier for high power 0.5 to 3.0 GHz broadband applications

M/A-COM Technology Solutions has announced the MAAP-010168 MMIC power amplifier for high power broadband applications. This two staged amplifier operates between the 500 MHz to 3.0 GHz frequency range.

The amplifier is fully matched for input and output at 50 Ohms which eliminates the customer's need for any sensitive external RF tuning components. Unlike competing products the MAAP-010168 boasts high reliability with added excellent efficiency and gain, providing a high power off-the shelf solution.

The MAAP-010168 is fabricated using a high reliability pHEMT process to realize higher power. The amplifier provides a nominal gain of 24 dB with excellent input and output return loss of 10 dB across the 500 MHz to 3.0 GHz band. P1dB is 39 dBm and P SAT is 41 dBm.

Typical applications include repeater amplifiers, mobile infrastructure, air traffic control radars, weather radar, radio communication and test equipment.
