The converters meet EN50155 for electronic equipment used on railway rolling stock, and are suitable for many railway applications including in wireless communication systems, Wi-Fi, video monitoring, PA systems and certain control systems. The units may also be used in industrial, mining, military, marine and other extreme environments.
The RWY 252H converters have two fully independent, regulated isolated output stages, each providing any single voltage between 5 V and 110 Vdc. Output V1 has a 140 W power capacity and output V2, a 110 W power capacity. Nominal input voltages are 24 V, 36 V, 48 V, 72 V, 96 V or 110 Vdc with EN50155 input ranges. Efficiency is typically 85% at full load, depending on the input/output configuration. Protection features include 3000 Vdc input/output isolation, reverse polarity protection, overload protection and current limiting. An optional LED can be installed to indicate an output “ON” condition.
The series operates within a -40 to +70°C cold plate temperature range for full specification. The units are entirely encapsulated with a thermally conductive MIL-grade silicon rubber compound which provides immunity to high levels of shock and vibration (EN61373/IEC61373), moisture, dust and airborne contaminants. They meet EN50121-3-2 and EN55022 Class B conducted and radiated EMI, and relevant EN61000 immunity standards, ensuring minimum interference with sensitive electronic equipment. Low component count, large design headroom, and the use of components with established reliability result in a high MTBF, and contribute to low life cycle costs of the units.
Standard versions of the RWY 252H Series are priced in the $350 range in quantities of 100.
