8 GHz, 4-Watt packaged linear PAs for backhaul links

MACOM Technology Solutions’ MAAP-011161 and the MAAP-011193, are packaged linear power amplifiers (PAs) designed for use in point to point radios in cellular backhaul applications. The PAs operate over 7.1-7.9 GHz and 7.7-8.5 GHz respectively, and are intended for 7 and 8 GHz radio applications.

The amplifiers feature a third order intercept point (OIP3) of 46.5 dBm and greater than 35.5 dBm saturated output power. The MAAP-011161 offers 22 dB small signal gain, while the MAAP-011193 provides 20 dB small signal gain. These power amplifier MMICs come in an air-cavity 7 mm surface mount package with a copper coin paddle for thermal performance. The devices include on-chip ESD protection structures and DC by-pass capacitors to ease the implementation and volume assembly of the packaged part, and are RoHS Compliant.
