ARM-based intelligent actuator/motor controller with integrated drivers

ZMDI’s ZAMC4100 is an intelligent actuator and motor controller IC with integrated motor drivers, aimed at actuator/motor control in industrial, medical and automotive applications, for use where a small form factor is required or external components must be minimised.

In a single 9 x 9 mm QFN package, the ZAMC4100 integrates an ARM Cortex-M0 microcontroller, eight power stages with integrated MOSFETs; SPI, UART and LIN2.1 communication interfaces; eight general-purpose digital input/output (I/O) pins; and four general-purpose analogue inputs.

The company quotes the example application of a compact single-chip solution for the latest generation of automotive premium exterior mirrors. It controls the heater, LEDs and DC motors for mirror adjustment and folding, blind-spot detection, puddle light, defroster and turn signal.
