Automotive touch controllers serve 5 – 18in. panel sizes

Synaptics (San Jose, California), developer of human interface products, has added three touch controller solutions designed specifically for the quality and reliability requirements and lifetime needs of the automotive market.

The Synaptics ClearPad automotive solutions include S7880, S7881, and S7882 touchscreen controllers which address the rapidly advancing evolution of modern vehicle cockpits. They include pressure-sensing ClearForce technology, proximity detection, performance while wearing gloves, and performance under moist screen or finger conditions.

 

Synaptics’ automotive solutions meet ISO 11452 standards for automotive electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), Automotive Electronics Council (AEC-Q100) specifications for use in harsh automotive environments, and are supported by full PPAP documentation. Synaptics is QMS certified to ISO 9001 with a TS-16949 compliant supply chain. The company says it already sees interest from global Tier 1 and OEM customers.
