Cables target high-speed data transmisssion in civil aerospace

In response to advancements in modern airborne digital networks and passenger demands, W. L. Gore & Associates has announced a family of high-speed data cables for civil aerospace applications. These products address the industry’s ever-increasing data needs in aircraft, including passenger in-flight entertainment (IFE) and essential electronic systems while reducing maintenance downtime and operating costs.

GORE® Aerospace Cables deliver excellent signal integrity for high-speed data transmission up to 10 gigabits over longer distances. They support standard protocols such as Ethernet Cat5e and Cat6a, USB 3.1, HDMI 2.0, and more.

Constructed with uniquely engineered fluoropolymers, GORE® Aerospace Cables provide durable protection in the most demanding aerospace environments, including a wide range of temperatures. The high-density construction of these cables significantly reduces weight and diameter for improved installation. The small cable diameter increases flexibility with a tight bend radius for easy routing.

Typical applications for GORE® Aerospace Cables include avionics networks, digital video systems, cabin management systems, flight management systems, Ethernet backbone, content loading systems, weather radar systems, and in-flight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) systems.
