Complete integrated WiFi front end modules

The RFFM8xxx series provide complete integrated solutions in single front end modules (FEMs) for WiFi systems. Small form factor and integrated matching minimizes the layout area in the customer's application and greatly reduces the number of external components.

This simplifies the total front end solution by reducing the bill of materials, system footprint, and manufacturability cost. Each device is provided in a 2.5-mm x 2.5-mm x 0.45-mm, 16-pin QFN package.

The RFFM8202 and RFFM8204 cover 2.4 GHz to 2.5 GHz, while the RFFM8502 covers 4.9 GHz to 5.85 GHz. The RFFM8202 integrates a PA, LNA with bypass mode, power detector, SP3T, and filtering, while the RFFM8204 integrates a PA, SP3T, power detector and filtering, and the RFFM8502 integrates a 5 GHz PA, SP2T, switch, LNA, and power detector

Both the RFFM8202 and RFFM8204 deliver 19 dBm 11g OFDM at 2.5% EVM, and 21 dBm meeting 11b spec mask, while the RFFM8502 provides 17.5 dBm, 11a, OFDM at 2.5% EVM.

Other features include high linearity, input and output matching to 50 Ω, and support for a wide voltage supply range.
All the devices are able to meet the demands of the evolving WiFi market and come in a low height package, suited for SiP and CoB designs.

Typical applications include cellular handsets, mobile devices, tablets, consumer electronics, gaming, netbooks/notebooks, TV/monitors/video and smart energy.
