Echelon's Smart Street Lighting solutions will show attendees how to transform streetlights into an intelligent, energy-efficient, remotely managed device network that delivers optimal lighting at less cost than low-energy luminaires alone. The platform serves as a foundation for building a smart city - it does not only manage lighting but additional applications for monitoring pollution, air composition, humidity, temperature, traffic and street noise, can be integrated over time. Currently, more than 500 cities have started projects towards more smart energy usage, building on the company's street lighting solutions.
The Echelon Smart Building solutions will demonstrate how facilities managers and application developers can leverage Echelon's royalty-free platform to develop, deploy, and manage building automation and energy management systems. In addition, attendees will gain first-hand insight into how real world solutions can mix and match the world's two leading building automation standards – LonWorks and BACnet – to provide end-users with the best of both worlds.
Development partners for Echelon's solutions will demonstrate their applications built on the company's energy control networking platform. Applications to be shown include LonWorks to BACnet/IP integration; intelligent street lighting using outdoor lighting controllers for multiple types of lamps; and Intelligent street lighting using integrated ballasts and generators.
In addition to the exhibits, Echelon representatives will participate at educational seminars and panel discussions. The probably most interesting one will take place on April 17, 11:15, in hall 11, room Granaton. It is titled "Is there a smart grid in your future?"
At the fair, Echelon can be found in hall 9.0, booth E 10.
