S8 can be used as a bridge managing any raw NAND flash and interfacing to host CPU's using SD or MMC interfaces. Together with Hyperstone’s hyReliability firmware, it provides not only standard FTL and wear levelling but also endurance and data retention management, as well as fail-safe features mandatory for industrial or automotive applications.
The company claims read/write performances of up to 90 MB/sec and host transfer rates of up to 104 MB/sec. The controller is compliant with Toggle DDR or ONFI 2.3 Flash interfaces but also compatible to all legacy flash interfaces.
