Low-jitter crystal oscillators to 1.5 GHz

IDT has added high-performance crystal oscillators featuring jitter performance, low cost and short production lead times; they are offered in frequencies from 16 kHz to 1.5 GHz.

XU and XL families are positioned as offering a comprehensive set of features and flexibility at a leading price-vs.-performance ratio. The low-phase jitter crystal oscillators are customisable for frequencies from 16 kHz to 1.5 GHz, with 300 fsec RMS phase jitter, and are available in HCMOS, LVPECL, LVDS, and HCSL outputs. IDT is offering fast delivery of custom-frequency oscillators, quoting two weeks or less.

“The XU and XL crystal oscillators are IDT’s response to the increasingly stringent jitter requirements resulting from higher data throughput in serial IO technologies,” said Dave Shepard, vice president and general manager of IDT’s Timing and RF Division. “Our new oscillators offer designers a reliable and economical solution to address the growing challenges of frequency control.”

Typical jitter values of 300 fsec RMS with a maximum value of 400 fsec, are quoted integrated over 12 kHz to 20 MHz. The devices are suitable for networking, communications, data I/O, storage and servers.

The XU family is offered in LVPECL, LVDS, HCSL and HCMOS versions, with operating voltages of 3.3V, 2.5V or 1.8V. These devices offer frequency stabilities as low as ±20 ppm with a temperature range up to -40C to 85C in industry standard packages of 7 x 5 mm or 5 x 3.2 mm.

The XL family is offered in LVPECL, LVDS and HCMOS versions, with operating voltages of 3.3V or 2.5V. The XL family offers frequency stabilities as low as ±20 ppm with temperature range up to -40C to 85C in industry standard packages - 7 x 5 mm, 5 x 3.2 mm and 3.2 x 2.5 mm.
