Micro-USB socket, charging-rated, in smaller PCB footprint

USB3160 is a low profile SMT Micro USB vertical receptacle. Makers GCT claims one of the lowest profiles available at 5.20 mm height above PCB, for smaller and more compact devices. It has enhanced high current rating for charging at 2.8A, presented as 1A more than standard products, for fast charging application requirements.

The USB3160 is also improves reliability due to the positioning of the shell stakes, which in other designs can be close to SMT pads and pose a greater risk of short circuiting - the USB3160 avoids this problem with shell stake designs allowing more space; shell stake lengths can be 0.70, 1.20 or 1.70 mm offering flexibility for product designs.
