Japanese electronics parts manufacturer Murata Manufacturing has announced that .itwill launch mass production of power supply modules for LED lighting. The power supply modules are for the most commonly used 25W class and have achieved a compact size and light weight. They are compatible with a range of current values.

These products will be on display at CEATEC JAPAN 2012, which will be held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture from October 2nd to 6th. The reason why Murata enters LED power supply production is that LED lights are rapidly growing in popularity. LED specifications vary greatly in output voltage and current even in the same wattage class. In response, Murata has developed a series of identically shaped power supply modules for the most commonly used general-purpose 25W class that are compatible with many specifications.

Features of the new product lines include simple construction - insulation and PFC circuit use only a single converter; compatibility with a variety of output current values and light weight of just 140g. With their power input range fro 90 to 267 VAC they can be used anywhere in the world. The power supplies will be designed for indoor usage.
