Octal MSI logic to simplify data bus engineering

Diodes Inc. adds octal devices to its low-voltage CMOS logic family, in QFN and TSSOP 20-pin packages. Thirteen 8-channel logic parts have been introduced, suitable for data bus applications in a wide range of consumer electronics and data communication products.

The octal logic functions added to the Diodes 74LVC family are: buffer/line drivers, transceivers, latches and flip-flops. Supporting a wide power supply range of 1.65V to 3.6V, the new logic devices are drop-in replacements for existing industry-standard parts and support both legacy and new product designs.

With inputs tolerant of voltages up to a maximum of 5.5V, the octal logic devices also operate comfortably in mixed voltage environments. All devices in the product line offer system designers the flexibility of power-down isolation via integral IOFF circuitry, which disables the output in power-down mode to protect against harmful current backflow.
