Radiation hardened DDR2 reaches the space market

November 30, 2015 // By Julien Happich
French company 3D Plus has announced what it believes to be the world's first radiation hardened DDR2 solution to space market.

The radiation hardened DDR2 solution includes the 3D Plus DDR2 module with a 3D Plus Radiation Intelligent Memory Controller (RIMC) IP, which can be easily integrated into most space grade FPGAs. Thanks to the co-protection from both the module and the controller IP, this hardened DDR2 solution can reach a Total Ionizing Dose (TID) over 100Krad (Si) and is immune to Single Event Latch-up (SEL), Single Event Upset (SEU) and Single Event Functional Interruption (SEFI).
