Micro Crystal has added a smaller package size to its real time clock modules product line portfolio with the C3 package embedding a 32.768kHz crystal either with integrated temperature compensation or as an ultra-low power consumption version.

The C3 measures 3.7x2.5x0.9mm and comes in a robust and compact HTCC ceramic package with a metal lid. It is digitally compensated to +/-3ppm at 25°C and temperature compensated to +/-6ppm at -40 to +85°C. The real time clock device is automotive qualified up to +125°C. For the ultra-low power RTC module, the device draws 130nA at 3Vdd. The modules are qualified according to AEC-Q200 Rev.C, RoHS compliant and 100% lead free.
