Rugged enclosures for embedded PC motherboards

February 18, 2014 // By Graham Prophet
Fischer Elektronik’s latest housing for fanless embedded PCs employs a one-sided, U-shaped aluminium housing profile that has integrated, external cooling ribs for better heat conduction, interior guide ducts for slidable square nuts or threaded strips which allow attachment of the mainboard printed circuit board using length-variable spacing bolts.

Lateral guide grooves integrated into the profile allow for non-standardised circuit boards, electronics components or assembly plates. A 2 mm thick floor plate and front plates matching the profile contour complete the design. Models with a special clamp attachment for assembly on rails according to DIN EN 50022 or with screwed-on attachment straps, for wall and ceiling assembly, are also offered. The embedded PC housings are available as-standard in three different surface finishes (natural colour anodised, black anodised or a combination). Additional mechanical processing, surface treatments and labelling are available on request.
