Signalion supplies RF for DVB-T research platform

Signalion has supplied its tunable RF module AMC-SRRM to NXP Semiconductors, Mugler AG and TU Dresden as part of the "Cool Silicon DVB-T Cool Broadcast Repeater” research project subsidized by the German Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) with 1,9 Million Euro.

The AMC-SRRM has been the first RF module in AMC form factor. It has been used in a plurality of applications including mobile communications and satellite communications. With digital broadcasting, the DVB-T project of NXP semiconductors adds another application area to the success story of the AMC-SRRM.

“The software programmability and the high RF quality made it possible to implement our DVB-T algorithms on Signalion’s AMC-SRRM based SDR platform. This DVB-T implementation plays a key role in our research project”, says Hennig Möller, Development Manager at NXP Semiconductors.

René Nüßgen, Product Manager at Signalion, adds: “We have paid particular attention to the support package of the AMC-SRRM. It enables seamless integration of the card into target systems by RF specialists as well as non-specialists.
