ViaSat selects the T-Series ATCA platform from Radisys

February 21, 2013 // By Jean-Pierre Joosting
ViaSat is using the Radisys® T-Series ATCA platform for its next generation satellite-based broadband infrastructure — enabling the company to meet its time-to-market, performance and capacity targets.

ViaSat’s satellite-based broadband infrastructure and service provides in excess of 12 Mbps Internet connectivity for land and in the air connections, with web page download times comparable to fiber access.

The T-Series ATCA platform solution includes the pre-integration of all of the hardware elements and T-Series Management Software, which includes ATCA platform management, load balancing and switch redundancy. This application-ready solution enables ViaSat to focus resources on developing its application, thereby accelerating its time to market while delivering up to a 3x boost in application performance. In addition, ViaSat can easily transition to next-generation 40G ATCA platforms in the future to boost performance and meet capacity demands as needed and with minimal risk and investment.

Radisys will be showcasing its ATCA product portfolio at Mobile World Congress, February 25-28 in Barcelona.
