The former JDSU recently split into two companies; its components, lasers and 3D sensing elements became Lumentum, whle the network test operation was re-consituted as Viavi. Viavi provides test equipment and operational solutions that give insight into the performance of communication network infrastructure and services; it aims to give users visibility of the performance and status of equipment along the communications network chain, and also metrics on how the network is performing according to the user’s demands.
Microlease has concluded a similar arrangement for specific territories with Keysight Technolgies, and will now also supply Viavi products in the UK – as well as its rental and used-equipment operations. Viavi says it believes that, as a result of its further collaboration with Microlease, Viavi will be better positioned to attend to the needs of its customers in the UK and satisfy their specific sourcing needs.
The core Viavi portfolio will be available for both purchase and rental purposes. This includes solutions for the wireline and wireless test market from customer premises to core network, handset to content. Equipment will also be available through ‘easy2source’, a Microlease programme which allows customers to save their capital by hiring for a fixed period and then converting to a discounted purchase if and when needed.
