The tool will be able to confirm a product’s compliance against all the requirements of the new ZigBee 3.0 certification regime, which is expected to be ratified later this year. ZigBee product designers and manufacturers will be able to realise consistency of performance; with the tool providing immediate feedback, interim verdicts and a comprehensible result summary to enable users to clearly identify what has passed and what has failed. The tool will allow product developers to lower their development costs and get to market faster.
TRaC Global’s Chief Executive, Mark Heaven comments: “The ZigBee test tool TRaC is developing for the Alliance will provide product developers with the highest confidence that all test criteria have been met prior to official certification testing. Allowing manufacturers to test their designs at all stages of development will enable them to identify any potential problems early in the design process. This will help to significantly increase the likelihood of achieving certification at the first attempt, eliminating costly product redesigns along the way.
“TRaC Global has been, and continues to be, an active participant within the ZigBee Alliance and is delighted to have our technical expertise and experience in ZigBee testing recognised in our selection for the delivery of this tool by the Board of the ZigBee Alliance.”
The test tool will be available to members of the ZigBee Alliance with the opening of the ZigBee 3.0 Certification Programme.
