Oscillators have jitters of less than 1ps

SiTime has released the SiT380X series of MEMS-based voltage controlled oscillators that have jitters of less than 1ps, and a pull range of ±1600ppm. The oscillators are available from MSC for different applications in telecomms, networking, and embedded applications. The SiT3808 oscillator is specified for the frequency range from 1 to 80MHz whereas the SiT3809 is suitable for the frequency range from 80 to 220MHz. The company claims that the oscillators have good pull range linearity that minimises variations of the application phase locked loop. The oscillators are compatible with quartz-based VCXO solutions and are available for the temperature range from -20 to +70°C. They are available in 4 and 6pin 7050 packages. The oscillators operate from power supplies of 1.8, 2.5, or 3.3V.
