Protocol tester handles Wave 2 WiMax

Allows product certification to Forum Cert level

EDN Europe, 02 Nov 2007

Anite has announced that its WiMAX Protocol Conformance Toolset (PCT) has been validated by the WiMAX Forum for certifying the latest Fixed WiMAX devices for the Wave 2 specifications. Wave 2 is an update that defines new features for the Fixed WiMAX (IEEE 802.16-2004) standard, including Quality of Service (QoS) and enhanced security. With this capability, you can test products to receive WiMAX Forum Certification, which should ensure interoperability among multi-vendor devices. Anite formed a partnership with AT4 Wireless, the Spanish independent test laboratory (formerly known as Cetecom) for wireless telecommunications technologies and products, to validate Anite's PCT. Wave 2 adds capabilities such as Quality of Service that enhance WiMAX support for real-time applications such as Voice over IP (VoIP), video and audio streaming, video conferencing and gaming. Wave 2’s security enhancements build on WiMAX’s existing security features by enabling the use of the Enhanced Encryption Standard (AES).
