Rohde & Schwarz adds mixed-signal features to ’scope family
MSO functions for quick, accurate testing of complex embedded designs
EDN Europe, 11 Nov 2011
Rohde & Schwarz has extended its RTO oscilloscope range, that it first introduced one year ago, with 16, 400-MHz digital logic channels in addition to the two or four analogue inputs. The logic channels are fully time-correlated with the analogue display. channels with 400 MHz input frequency. Equipped with the MSO option, the R&S RTO allows time correlation between the instrument's analog and digital sections. The RTO with MSO functions has sampling rate of 5 Gsamples/sec over the entire 200 Msample memory depth, with a maximum time resolution of 200 psec. You can analyse parallel interfaces of A/D or D/A converters, parallel buses such as PCI or DDR as well as serial buses such as I2C/SPI or LIN/CAN. The option comes with hardware-based acquisition, trigger and processing units. Even when the digital channels are on, you can achieve high acquisition rates of over 200,000 waveforms/sec. A wide variety of trigger types helps to pinpoint errors reliably.
