STMicroelectronics claims first 45-nm CMOS-RF chips

BY MATTHEW MILLER -- EDN Europe, 01 Feb 2008STMicroelectronics has announced the production of its fi rst fully functional ICs using a 45-nm CMOS-RF process. The prototype devices integrate a complete signal chain, from detection of an RF signal through digital output, according to the company. Measuring 0.45 mm2, including a low-noise amplifi er, a mixer, an ADC and fi ltering, the devices operate at 1.1V.
