Switch filter modules with five linear paths for cellular and GSM handset applications
EDN Europe, 26 Dec 2011
According to the RF Micro devices, its RF1293 and RF1293A switch filter modules offer low insertion loss along with good linearity performance and are suitable for multi-mode GSM, enhanced data rates for GSM evolution, LTE, wideband code division multiple access, cellular modem and USB, and universal mobile telecommunications system handset applications. These modules integrate low pass filtering on the GSM transmit paths. They also integrate GSM receive bandpass filters and are compatible with +1.8V control logic. The modules are available in 3.2x3.5mm, 21pin laminate module packages with no need for external DC blocking capacitors when no external DC is applied to device ports, says the company. They feature five linear paths, integrated digital cellular system and personal communications services Rx surface acoustic wave filters with single balanced output, more than 2kV human body model on all non-Rx ports, spec-compliant down to 1.3V control voltage. The RF1293 and RF1293A modules have a frequency band of 900MHz and 850MHz GSM, respectively.
