Tek adds latest MIPI specs to oscilloscopes’ interface test menu
New ‘scopes in two series target debugging of faster, more complex embedded designs
EDN Europe, 14 Apr 2011
Tektronix has announced two new versions of its performance oscilloscope families in the 500 MHz to 8 GHz range; the DPO7000C Series and new 4-, 6- and 8-GHz models in the MSO/DPO/DSA70000C Series. The company also announced its expanded support for MIPI testing with new serial decode solutions for MIPI Alliance’s CSI-2 and DSI specifications.
The DPO7000C Series includes serial analysis solutions, and packaged tools such as the One Touch Jitter Wizard that simplify complex testing tasks. The operating system is now Windows 7, which Tek says provides easier integration with data networks, and faster boot up times; it runs on a faster compute platform that provides quicker time to answer – up to 3x faster time to answer on DPOJET Jitter measurements for example. They also provide full LXI Class C support for easier integration into automated test stations. The list of supported embedded bus standards includes I2C, SPI, RS-232/422/485/UART, USB 2.0, MIPI CSI-2 and DSI.

The MSO/DPO/DSA70000C Series provides a deeper level of analysis and adds high speed timing analysis and compliance packages for standards including DDR3, USB 3.0, PCIe 3.0 and others. The DPO7000C series has bandwidth up to 3.5 GHz; beyond that, Tek has introduced new 4-, 6- and 8- GHz models of the MSO/DPO/DSA70000C Series, that also incorporate a faster compute platform, LXI Class C compliance and Windows 7.
Tektronix now offers expanded support for the MIPI specifications with protocol decode and search for MIPI CSI-2 and DSI serial buses, including a TekExpress automation toolset for one-button compliance testing of MIPI D-PHY TX measurements. Pricing for the DPO7000C starts at €15,800.
