Telelogic’s Rhapsody now has a UML/SysML-based modeling environment that the company has designed specifically for the automotive AUTOSAR engineering community. AUTOSAR engineers can re-use specifications for common vehicle features across multiple automobile product lines. The new offering consists of a modeling environment with the ability to import and export AUTOSAR XML, enabling the user to easily integrate AUTOSAR system modeling into their process and tool chain; it also allows users to define the complete AUTOSAR system using the diagrams, notations and terminology that the AUTOSAR project specifies. The environment includes a Software Component Diagram to define the software architecture, and an Internal Behaviour Diagram, which specifies the interface between the AUTOSAR system and the standard infrastructure (run-time environment) with which it will integrate. Phase one of the AUTOSAR project will launch before the end of 2006, and the Rhapsody AUTOSAR solution will be productroundup available when AUTOSAR releases the specifications.
