The W3540, W3541, and W3542 planar antennae from Pulse are UWB (ultra-wide-band) high-gain, lowprofile, internal planar antennae for high-speed, short-range data-communication equipment. They have a height of 0.8 mm and all exhibit a minimum of 10 dB return loss. Dimensions of the W3540 are 10.2x13.35 mm with a weight of 0.27g, and its ground clearance under the antenna is 20.0x13.5 mm. Pulse optimised this version for 2.7-to-8.2 GHz: therefore, it will work with the 3.1-to-4.95-GHz UWB low band and the 6.9-to-8.5-GHz UWB high band. Suitable for applications of 4.5 to 14.0 GHz, the W3541 measures 6.5x 8.0 mm, with a weight of 0.082g and a ground clearance under the antenna of 10.0x8.5 mm. The W3542 is 5.0x 6.0 mm, has a weight of 0.046g, a ground clearance under the antenna of 8.1x6.5 mm, and is best for applications in the 6.3-to-12.0-GHz range. The 50Ω antennae provide omni-directional radiation for 360° coverage, have a shaped patch-type radiator to enable expanded signal coverage, and deliver constant gain across the operation band. Prices start at $0.40 per (100,000).
