Texas Instruments, C.G. Development and Quanta Microsystems have introduced a RF4CE development platform for advanced RF remote control applications. This development platform is based on TI’s new CC2530 IEEE 802.15.4 chipset along with the company’s low power MSP430 MCUs and related software stacks supporting ZigBee PRO and ZigBee RF4CE. Developers’ ideas for user interface can be easily implemented from TI's MSP430 product portfolio, which connects with the CC2530 and communicates information to other systems through an RF4CE interface. Production-ready modules help customers to shorten development cycle, reduce yield loss and simplify RF test setup for manufacturing platform. CC2530 offers 2x more flash memory and its extensive peripheral set (DMA, GPIO, USARTs, ADC, timers) supports a range of applications and reduces bill-of-material cost. The chipset integrates a RF transceiver with 8051 MCU, in-system programmable flash memory and 8Kbyte RAM.
