Wireless communications test set for mobile broadband industry
EDN Europe, 26 Dec 2011
Agilent Technologies has announced the E5515E 8960 Series 10 wireless communications test set for the R&D segment of the mobile broadband industry. The test set is equipped with dual downlink paths and includes features such as sustained 42Mbit/s dual cell HSDPA (high-speed downlink packet access) throughput and extensive handovers between 2G, 3G and LTE, for 2G, 3G, 3.5G, LTE testing together with the company’s PXT E6621A wireless communication test set for LTE. In addition, the test set supports the time division synchronous code division multiple access advancements such as TD (time division) HSDPA 2.8Mbit/s IP data connections, TD high speed uplink packet access signaling and test-mode connections, and TD synchronous code division multiple access protocol logging. The test set complements the currently available E5515C, which continues to offer robust and standards-compliant 2G, 3G, 3.5G RF measurements for both R&D and high-volume manufacturing test. According to the company, the E5515C can be upgraded to E5515E hardware to support the latest 3.5G technologies such as 42Mbit/s DC HSDPA.
